Brendle Group Helps New Belgium Prepare its Sustainability Management System

Brendle Group worked with New Belgium Brewing to complete its first corporate Sustainability Management System (SMS) in 2007, reinforcing the company’s industry-leading role in championing sustainability. The SMS identifies several target goals, such as closing resource loops and reducing the company’s carbon footprint, and outlines key performance indicators to measure success.

The SMS is the product of staff collaboration from all parts of the company. Meeting monthly from December 2006 through August 2007, Brendle Group worked with New Belgium Brewing’s “Sustentacular” team to turn their sustainability vision into reality.

The SMS also provides tools for decision makers in purchasing, design, capital portfolio management, and strategic planning. Finally, guidelines are provided for reporting on progress and reviewing and updating each aspect of the document.
