Park City Community Carbon Inventory and Roadmap for Reductions
Brendle Group Helps Utah's Community Climate Change Leader Tackle its Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Brendle Group assisted Utah’s Park City Municipal Corporation to develop a community greenhouse gas inventory and road map for reducing its emissions.The inventory draws on accepted methodologies from ISO 14064-1, The Climate Registry, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the Environmental Protection Agency, and Local Governments for Sustainability (ICLEI).
Working with a citizen’s Carbon Advisory Committee, Brendle Group helped Park City develop an inventory and roadmap that examines existing practices and opportunities for short-term and long-term goals, objectives, and strategies for reducing emissions across a variety of sources.
Twenty-one strategies were identified that provide direct actions, incentives, education, and regulations for reducing emissions. Implementation concepts include integrating with state-level policy, organizing community and staff for monitoring progress, creating partnerships, and educating and enlisting citizen support.
