The Climate Wise Program was selected as one of the Top 50 Programs of the 2008 Innovations in American Government Awards competition, sponsored by the Ash Institute for Democratic Governance and Innovation at Harvard Kennedy School, from a pool of approximately 1,000 local, county, city, tribal, state, and federal applicants.

Fort Collins Climate Wise Program
Brendle Group Lends its Support to Nationally Recognized Climate Program
Since the program’s inception in 1999, Brendle Group has helped develop and support the City of Fort Collins, Colorado’s Climate Wise program, now a nationally recognized program for reducing energy use and community greenhouse gas emissions through business outreach and technical support. Climate Wise is a free, voluntary program dedicated to helping local business and the environment. Through environmental assessments and creative solutions, the program helps businesses tackle modern-day business challenges that impact bottom lines and community quality of life. The over 200 businesses participating in this voluntary program come from a wide range of sectors, from small, local retail businesses to national and international technology companies.
Specifically, Brendle Group has provided on-site technical assistance in the form of energy and water assessments, developing recommendations to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and monitoring program outcomes to track reduction results. Brendle Group has also provided program assistance including developing a streamlined greenhouse gas inventory tool for participants and quantifying emissions reductions from hundreds of energy efficiency, renewable energy, solid waste reduction, water conservation, and transportation measures implemented by participants each year.
