Sustainability for Schools
Brendle Group specializes in working with colleges, universities, and K-12 schools to champion sustainability, both in operations and in the classroom.
Colleges, universities, and many K-12 schools have emerged as national leaders in confronting the issue of climate change and working toward sustainability in their operations and classrooms. But such leadership is not without its challenges. As large, multifaceted institutions, colleges, universities, and school districts are often faced with a wide range of issues as they work toward sustainability, from energy and water use to solid waste, procurement, and long-range district and campus growth. What’s more, organizing staff, faculty, and students to work collaboratively toward sustainability can be a daunting task.
Brendle Group provides the engineering as well as the strategic planning expertise that education institutions working toward sustainability seek. Specifically, our LEED-accredited professional engineers conduct energy and water efficiency assessments of existing buildings and guide the sustainable design of new facilities. More broadly, our facilitators help identify goals, practices, and priorities in a whole school approach to sustainability that engages the entire district or campus community. In doing so, Brendle Group makes sustainability accessible and rewarding to staff, faculty, and students alike.
