Local Government
Brendle Group works
with local governments to use resources more efficiently, confront the
challenges of climate change, and engage citizens and staff in working toward
sustainability.
Local governments can play a leading role in promoting energy and resource efficiency, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and adopting sustainable practices. Such a leadership role, however, can pose challenges. Local governments often face organizational hurdles in bringing departments together, and they must balance the needs of different stakeholder constituencies and work within limited budgets.
Brendle Group partners with local governments on many levels. For internal operations, we help identify energy and water efficiency opportunities that save resources and provide visible successes and quick paybacks to capital and operating budgets. We conduct greenhouse gas inventories and develop action plans to reduce emissions from energy, transportation, and other sources. We also help develop comprehensive sustainability plans to tie all practices together with implementation strategies, including staffing and funding.
From program development to community outreach and education, Brendle Group helps local governments engage the broader community in sustainability. We develop strategies and incentives to promote green building, support business sustainability practices, and provide vital community education resources.
