As a Senior Energy Engineer with Brendle Group, Steve has orchestrated teams responsible for designing mechanical, electrical and structural systems for award-winning, energy responsive commercial and municipal buildings. In addition, Steve has implemented large energy and water efficiency projects and designed multi-million dollar renewable energy projects. As part of his design experience, Steve has developed numerous process flow diagrams, heat and mass balances and process and instrumentation diagrams to inform decision-making. Steve’s technical experience also includes performing thermodynamic, electrical and mechanical engineering calculations for commercial and industrial equipment sizing; performing detailed industrial and commercial energy audits using various tools, including data-logging, sub-metering, and computer simulation; and understanding process integration, including heat, water, and mass pinch.
In addition to Steve's broad technical skills, he is a seasoned project manager who has been responsible for implementing numerous energy efficiency projects, designing and permitting of several anaerobic digestion efforts, and overseeing the development of control systems.
Steve holds an M.S. in Civil Engineering, Building Systems from the University of Colorado, a B.A. in Geography and Environmental Studies from Dartmouth College, and a Certificate in Energy Management and Design from Sonoma State University.
